Yes, there is a DivX browser plugin. It is called DivX Web Player and it is a simple web browser extension that streams video in all well known formats bringing benefits such as adaptive bitrate streaming, 5.1 channel audio, support for multiple subtitles and offline viewing. If you want to download it you should get the DivX installer and select to install the component DivX Web Player when you run it.
I downloaded the latest version of DivX (44MB size) suggested by Software Informer. But when went about installing the program using the 904KB DivX installer 'As Administrator', Setup repeatedly presented the error message that 'A critical error has occurred and Setup will close'. Why is this happening and how to proceed in the circumstances?

If you have trouble downloading the files through Software Informer, you can use the official website. Make sure to avoid using download accelerators this time, so that the integrity remains the same while the file is transferred.
This happens because the DivX is not configured properly. You need to configure the settings to use the right ISO mode for subtitles. To read more about this, visit the Wikipedia page related to character encoding.
This is a set of tools that allow you to play, convert and manage your videos collection. DivX is the commercial version of XviD, the open source codec to encode or decode audio/video media.

How can I uninstall DivX? I have tried everything, and nothing works.
